It's an extra heat reserve to call on when you need it. I bought the jacket expressly to use on rotary and fixed-wing aircraft and so far it has served that purpose very well.

Keeping Warm	January 26, 2009

I purchased this jacket as a gift for my father who lives in West Virginia. He owns a business and he is in and out of the cold weather so often that he doesn't have enough to keep warm and to help him not to sweat during his work. I thought this was a great purchase because it is light weight, he can control his tempature, and continue to work in the cold without worrying about getting bronchitis or a bad chest cold. I love this jacket and the vest. I will purchase the vest in the future. Thanks for the options.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband, since he is very sensitive to the cold weather. He loved it. He uses it everyday. It is especially nice because it is lightweight and very durable. He has worn it when it was 15 degrees outside and it kept him warm.
