Our lightweight intelligent rechargeable battery pack option uses one of the safest available lithium polymer rechargeable battery technologies and provides the power to the heated clothing. It is quickly charged using a special AC wall charger or our optional auto adaptor that also allows you to either charge your ActiVHeat battery pack or power your garment directly from a 12V auto power socket. - As easy as charging your cell phone! Is it safe to use? What about electrocution? A common concern about heated clothing seems to be a misconception about electrocution, particularly when it rains. It's virtually impossible to be electrocuted by portable heated clothing. Since all the rechargeable heated clothing systems such as heated vests and heated jackets run on low voltages less than 12V, you could jump into a river and the worst that could happen is you'd feel a mild buzz. ActiVHeatÒ clothing runs at voltage of only 7.4Volts which is lower than used in many children electronic toys. What about that High Frequency EMF radiation? All battery powered electric heated clothing is also safe from high frequency EMF. The voltage operating any battery operated heated clothing is less than 13V DC, and the frequency is 0 Hz so there is no EMF. Workmanship is another story. In 2007 at least one maker of battery heated clothing had their products recalled by a national retailer due to the risk of it overheating or catching fire. As with any product, all heated clothing is not created equal. Bad wiring design and workmanship can cause “hot spots” which do have a safety risk. You need to be confident the product you are buying is a safe one. So how can you develop this confidence? Firstly, check the manufacturer has recent independent tests to verify safety. For example, the ActiVHeatÒ heated clothing range has been rigorously tested by an internationally renowned independent testing laboratory company. We supply large, quality retailers with our heated products which is a good indication that you’re going to be fine. These big retailers have stringent testing requirements so they have done the quality evaluation for you. National US retailer Brookstone buys custom versions of our ActiVHeatÒ heated clothing. The ActiVHeatÒ cold weather clothing heating system uses a new technology employing very thin yet very strong non-metallic microfiber bundles. These microfiber bundles are integrated into your ActiVHeatÒ clothing to actively warm to your core and also stimulate blood circulation in your chest and back. It uses safe, low-power far-infrared rays to radiate heat from the integrated microfibers bundles. |

Simple to use. You adjust the heat level on the heated jacket, heated vest, or heated glove liners using a simple one-button heat controller that is detachably connected to the heated clothing. Switch a cold shiver into warm comfort. Wind stopping apparel. ActiVHeatÒ heated cold weather clothing warms without being bulky. The wind stopping fabric makes our apparel also suitable as outerwear. How? Our premium-grade windproof micro-fleece outer fabric limits air permeability and increases insulation and comfort because of a laminated fabric bonding layer embedded in the fabric. Why is this so important for heating? If we were to use regular fleece, the heat would just leak out like water out of a bucket full of holes, so the heat would need to be switched onto HIGH all the time to keep you warm. With our special multi-layer windproof fleece and 6-layer soft shell garments, the heat is trapped inside your core region enabling you to turn down or off the heating when you are warmed up. This means you can preserve the battery power which will keep you warm for many more hours.
